3D Scanning

3D Scanning

Have a complex object you want digitized or an existing part you'd like updated to serve a new purpose? Send us some photos and we'll let you know if 3D scanning is the right solution.

We use metrology-grade laser scanning at up to 0.05 mm (~0.002 in) — accurate enough for fit-critical replacements, archives, and downstream CAD work.

How scanning works

Capture a physical part into a usable digital model.

  1. Tell us what you’re capturing

Send images of what you would like scanned from many different angles. Reflective or solid black parts can be scanned but may require a temporary coating. Contact us for more details.

  2. We scan in the shop

The part is digitized with the accuracy your job needs, then cleaned up for the next step. If your part cannot come to us we may be able to work with you to move our equipment to your location.

  3. Files, a printed copy, or both

We hand you the digital model, printed part, or both. Prints can ship or be picked up locally.
